It's crazy to see that Alabama is still underrated all-time even though they haven't had any real room to exceed expectations for the last 8 years. But yeah Kirby Smart knows how to do this.

It was more about proof that UGA's stock rises in the offseason. They're not the worst (holy crap, Texas) but they're among the elite when it comes to being overranked.
Thats right, the fools ran off the best coach in UGAG history to hire Junior Samples
Need more analysis here -- the most overrated teams according to that table are the powerhouses of college football (excepting a few like Alabama) -- so who wouldn't prefer to be overrated rather than underrated on that model?
Stopped reading right there."Several of Saban’s assistants from years past are now head coaches at premier programs, including Jim McElwain, Jimbo Fisher and Will Muschamp.
Everyone knows that the polls are lagging indicators that reward past success and continuity. That's the same for all similar endeavors. Predicting the future is hard; reviewing the past is easy.

I wonder if any program has come close to squandering as much top-tier talent in their history as Georgia.
Georgia are a fine football team...I ought to know....I beat their ass 8 times in a row!
Four of those five do not have an Urban Meyer.Georgia, LSU, Texas, USC, Ohio State, those are five places that can go on an Alabama-type run.
One of these things is not like the other...
What the ESS EEE SEE collectively doesn't understand is just how much of an outlier Saban is. If Saban stayed at LSU, he would not have had the same level of success.
Saban has had his success because of his first recruiting class with Julio Jones and others. He spent so much more time than other coaches doing high school visits during the off-season. The NCAA had a loophole of coaches visiting high schools and "running into" recruits. The NCAA ended this practice with the "Saban rule," but the Saban had two recruiting classes by the time who would win championships 3 out of 4 years.

Saban is the top coach in the nation or at worst top two with Urban Meyer. But winning championships 3/4 years is not the kind of success any coach has to sell. That's why it's so hard to "out-Saban Saban."
It has been a while since I've seen anyone suggest Saban isn't the undisputed best coach in America.Saban is the top coach in the nation or at worst top two with Urban Meyer.
Urban Meyer has had two undefeated seasons he didn't win a national championship. One with Utah, the other in his first year with Ohio State (bowl ban). Add 3 national titles on top of that! 2-2 vs Saban head to head.It has been a while since I've seen anyone suggest Saban isn't the undisputed best coach in America.
