GT v. FSU in Ireland 2024

Ticket and travel packages are totally juiced. Completely insane prices. Also, we lose a home game against FSU.

Delta flights to Dublin for the week ahead of the game are currently like $2300 and up. Oof.

It was 1200 just a few weeks ago through the official travel partner.

Yeah, we ended up booking through Aer Lingus for like $1400 each, one stops with short layovers in Chicago outbound and Boston inbound. A bit of a bummer since I’ve got good status on Delta, but no combo of miles and dollars could get it below $2300 each on Delta given the constraints (girlfriend’s vacation days) we were working with.

Delta flight prices in general have been ridiculously overpriced for quite some time. There are diminishing reasons to remain "loyal" to Atlanta's hometown airline.

We are doing the JAX-Newark-Dublin flights. I don’t have to deal with Hartsfield or a 3.5 hour drive to the airport.

Watching prices daily finally paid off and I snagged a one-way first class ticket to Dublin for $2060 (out of NYC.) Heading to Scotland after, then to Italy for the F1 race.
I guess $2060 for a one way ticket is a bargain.

It's more than I'd like to spend but it is a "bargain" (not really) compared to where the prices have been since the announcement.

Coach is 700 one way. I won't sleep at all in coach, and getting four hours of sleep vs zero sleep the night before a vacation is worth the $1300 in my mind.

Check flights into Shannon. Ireland is small - you can walk from Shannon to Dublin.

Kidding on walking, but if you are going to stay over and do some touring, Shannon is a good choice. Galway, Cliffs of Mohr, Burren, are easily accessible and it's quicker to get down to Ring of Kerry, etc.

Fly into Shannon, get a hotel there, then drive up to Dublin for the game is an option.

80k problem:
I couldn't find any aircraft that have lie-flat seats in business class for flights into/out of Shannon. A bunch of 757's and 321's.

I’m glad I locked in when we did. It was 1200 per round trip for us and I’m paying for 3.

Many 757-200s have lie flats Including all of United’s. FYI

I lucked out and will be watching it from the comfort of my home for $0.

I’ll be doing some serious relaxing with the money and time I save, rest assured.

I’m not having much luck buying a ticket. I booked a hotel a while back and haven’t even thought about a plane ticket yet. GT is telling me to get a game ticket from Ireland and Ireland is telling me to get tix from GT.

Cancel your hotel, book and flight to ATL and we will put together a bitchin Stingtalk watch party.
