Official Gasparilla Bowl/AI Masterpieces Thread

First and apparently only allotment as they are telling folks to buy from Gaspiralla
I’m not 100% sure that is correct the way Tech handles bowl ticket sales. Tech could have gotten enough preorders to sell first allotment, told Gasparilla they needed more, and then sold those through preorder as well. All without anyone knowing where their seat will be because it hasn’t been assigned as of the sold out notification.

I ended up buying thru ticketmaster. With taxes and fees got them for $1.70 more than GT and got to pick my seats. The whole GT ticket allotment process is annoying. You tell them what you want but have to commit to worse seats than you want if you want a chance at the seats you want. There has to be a better way. I'm going to be starting at hundreds of unsold premium seats on game day, just like games at the Benz. I've resigned my self despite what I think is a fairly high ticket priority to just scalping tickets instead of trying to go thru GT.

I bought through TM as well and got pretty good seats. I don’t like telling Tech that I’ll buy one of their tickets for a set price, not know where it is, and then getting screwed through the allotment process.

It’s been a while since I’ve bought championship and bowl games tickets. Disappointing to see the same process involving uncertainty is still there. I’ve been scalping tickets to these type of games and away games for at least a decade now. The final straw was when I was put in 600 level at Samford and Son with nothing but a bunch of mouth breathers around me.

There is no way to remove uncertainty from the process. I usually don't but from GTAA but this game the tickets were priced basically the same and I figured I would get a decent selection. One thing I've found that help out to not select the most expensive option, the high point folks are going to select that option and I will be on the bottom of the selection ladder.

Another thing you'll find that helps is to give more money to AT and become a high point folk who is at the top of that ladder.

They could do a timed ticket buying process, and allow higher priority to buy first, picking specific seats.

How does that help anything? I have no problem with the way they handled it. The way they could have improved the process, based on the way they handled it, would have been to give some feedback to your selections after the choosing period ended. For instance, you pick the most expensive seat option and when the window closes, you get an interactive page that shows, say, 500 seats in that price range and your AT points put you at #600 for seats, but the next lower section would move you to #300 there in a pool of 1,000 seats (which you would automatically get pushed into). Two lower and you're #25 for 2,500 seats. And you choose where to move.
