AJC's Ken and Rival's Kelly say the pick is in. Apparently CPJ said he decided on the QB, but no info on who that is.

KQ said on the radio today that if the game was today, it would be Taquan.

agree. goes without saying but I'll say it anyways... the more times you have to snap the ball to score, the more bad things can go wrong.
Yes, you don't have to win T.O.P every game to win the game, but if the other team consistently controls the ball more than you do, it's like having 8 footers for par all day. Fighting a losing battle

Ball started against Auburn on the road in 2003

Not sure if you are referencing a first start or not, but Ball's first start was against BYU on the road. And the next game we beat AU at home.

CPJ said earlier this week that the team would know who the starter was going into the game but the media/fans either might not or won't (can't remember - it was a post practice interview posted on YouTube). Mentioned he didn't want to let UT know more than he needed to.

So does it change UT's preparation for us depending upon who is picked for QB? I would think their preparation doesnt change at all.

I would think so. I mean, the base offense is still the same. But with MJ we're looking at a ton of midline plays and runs up the gut. With Taquan, I see it more like JT due to his size. Lots more QB keepers on the wing instead of up the middle. LJ would be more of a dynamic player with possibly a touch more pass plays.

Sure screwed VT up last year. But given that UT isn't a division opponent (plays us every year and builds on previous gameplans) it might not change that much.
