The Chic bowl rings were part of the bowl package... So both teams got them. Only Kentucky got Taxpayer Bowl rings. The winning team did not get a ring. But is that really a surprise to anyone.

Why? They won the game. Refs totally screwed them. Literally the game was over based on the actual rules with Okie ST leading, and the refs made up rules.

It was so bad the NCAA should have gone back and rewritten the record books.

Screw that. Ok State should never be playing starters past the 3rd quarter against a MAC team. It's not like they didn't have their team on the field for the last play.

So should we make up a dumb rule that we broke and give Gardner-Webb a win against us because we shouldn't have had starters in past the 3rd? öööö happens. Every year teams lose/almost lose to teams they shouldn't. That doesn't make it OK for the refs to royally F-up the outcome of a game.

Chic bowl rings are for girls and UVA. Real football players should have manly rings.

No. Scoreboard at the zeros is all that matters.

How is the Gardner Webb game relevent here. We shouldn't have had the starters in past half time there, even with Booker. Teams do lose every year when they shouldn't, and they don't bitch and change their records.

If we could go back and fix royal screw ups we wouldn't be sharing a national title with Colorado.

OK state should have stopped them from scoring.

I think the scoreboard at the zeros had OK State in the lead. Refs made up a rule to run an untimed play after time expired.

They didn't make up a rule, the overlooked a rule. The normal rule is to play an untimed down in that situation. The exception is when the team with the ball commits a penalty that would result in a loss of down, as this would. In that situation, no additional untimed down is to be played.

This is to address a situation where the offense could be rewarded by getting another play after the clock expires by just chucking the ball away.

However, as others have pointed out, there are plenty of safer ways to run 4 seconds off of the clock.

When applicable to bowl rings appropriate to be displayed by staff and players of the losing team, perhaps this would be a better characterized example ...
