RIP Aubbie HoF WR Terry Beasley (Links)

There's all kinds of extreme environmentally induced injuries all around us and we're just now starting to realize & examine it. All the rage now in the military are Blast Overpressurization (BOP) effects. If you've ever fired shoulder launched weapons, spent any substantial time breaching targets, fired too many mortar or howitzer rounds, been too close to IEDs, etc you could have suffered Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) from BOPs. Besides TBI you've got middle ear, lung and bowel damage risk and a whole host of musculoskeletal disorders. The statistics on folks repetitively subjected to harsh events is pretty damn astonishing. About 3 weeks of firing a lot of artillery rounds and 15% of the team is harmed to the point they need medical treatment. I bet it only takes a portion of a season as a OL or DL, etc to inflict the same amount of damage.
