Important Update (Dec. 20,2003):

mIRC Users: Stingtalk's IRC server setting is now: stormbringer.dyndns.org

Web Chat users will be connected to this server automatically.

If you have problems using the Web Chat java applet, you may want to try out mIRC. It is a free program that is generally regarded as the best for internet chat.

Once you have downloaded and installed the mIRC software, it is a very easy process to get connected.

1. When you start the program an MIRC OPTIONS window will pop up

2. fill in your name, email address, nickname, and alternative nickname

3. on the right side of this window will be (ADD) button-- press that button

4. another pop up window (add server) will come up and in the description box type: Stingtalk and in the irc server box type: stormbringer.dyndns.org

then click the add button

now you should be sent back to the mirc options window

5. now click on connect to irc server (stingtalk should be in the box above this button)

6. after you have done that an MIRC channels folder will pop up

7. in the enter name of channel to join box type: stingtalk

8. then click the join button

if you have done this correctly you should be taken to the stingtalk chatroom. There are 2 bots (BuzzBee, DoddsLuck) on duty in the channel 24 hours a day. They probably won't answer you if you try to chat with them.
