Who do we have playing today...

Remember, Vad Lee took 1 big hit at UNC and was through with 3O Fb forever

A kid that size takes a bit hit and it can change the way they play, sometimes they play in self-defense after taking a major hit

I'm glad we're through with Ga Southern style FB forever

Now we gotta get the CPJ fanboys into a detox program get all that 3O outta their systems

Sorry, but that gets a hard disagree from me. It was pretty well covered in the recent Satterfield-Louisville thread, but kids are frequently told to commit to the school not the coach. I think CGC has every right to be honest with the recruits and let them know if they're not likely to have a meaningful spot on the roster (i.e. encourage them to reopen their recruitment). This gives the athletes the choice to take his talents elsewhere if he so chooses. But pulling offers from committed recruits for purely roster management purposes should be a non-starter.
What about athletes already on the roster?

Yates went 13/23 for 177 yards 1td passing and 25 rushes for 96 yards. From what I've seen he'll fit well in CGC's offensive scheme. He is a true dual threat and defeated the top two programs to start and end the season at MBS. Colquitt was to play for the HS national championship had they won.

Watched his game vs Lowndes. Wasn’t impressed

I'm pretty sure he'll be able to take a hit. Fast forward to 1:16:29

EDIT: Well you'll have to click on the video to the right first. It's the third one down. Then FF to 1:16:29.

Same as the recruits I suppose. Be honest with them about their role in the new scheme(s). Grant transfers if requested. If they still want to be a Yellow Jacket though, they should still be on scholarship.

(I feel like it goes without saying that I'm talking purely from a roster management perspective. Different story if there are discipline/academic issues.)

Let's see we lost the ACC CG and due the fact there is an extra level of games due to the CFB playoff & CG, that means that this so-called OB is really equal to the Gator Bowl that GOL went to in 1998(?) when GT FB was co-ACC Champion

On top of that Mich St or Baylor would have been a better matchup for GT, but we got Miss St cause the Bowl folks wanted 2 Southern teams, Miss St didn't even make their Conf title game, their DC left for a new job , basically a team that had tuned out and was going thru the motions playing to not get hurt

In this newfound era of skipping b

That Mississippi State team was #1 in the country earlier that year. Trying to marginalize the accomplishments of a Tech team is pathetic.

You may have already grabbed the title of biggest douche on the board. Congrats!

Whatever industry you're in, does your company keep around employees that are bad fits, that have been rendered obsolete due to unforeseen changes in the marketplace?

Probably not

Kids nowadays are a lot more resilient and aware of the "way things work", they know the deal

Since our Graduation rate is good, that means we'll only be able to turn organically over 17-20 schollies per yr, throw in another 4-5 due to injury, and other random reasons that guys leave a program, and it'll take 3 years to turn this ship around

That's not fair to Coach G at all, coming in CPJ knew that great players can adapt to anything on a FB Field, but going out CPJ leaving less than great players means they cannot adapt and shouldn't be allowed to stymie our Program's progress towards a new Era of GT FB

Didn't say cut anybody, but guys that are within striking distance of Graduation need to be nudged to graduating early if they are 3rd string & below

Liar.

I wish GT would allow Coach G the flexibility to cull the herd and get our roster to his liking as soon as logistically possible, rather than making promises to players that might not want those guarantees to begin with

Keeping players in the program where they don't fit is kinda cruel to the players if you ask me, after all CFB is a brutal sport, asking a kid to sacrifice his body with a slim-to-none chance to play isn't doing those players any favors

Plus we need to open up those schollies, I'd like to see us get 10 guys in in January, and then have the full complement of 25 report in the Fall to hit the max of 35

The quicker we can turn over this roster the quicker we close the gap with Clemzon and Muttville

What it is, is GT FB and the GTAA protecting their elitist image at the expense of FB players that are putting their bodies on the line every time they practice

By the time we played them they were a shell of themselves

Early rankings mean very little, what were they ranked before the Bowl Game?

Honestly recalling sports history & facts doesn't make a person the d-word

That second one was such a busted play. Look at their 48 throw Chris Griffin to the ground like a sack of wheat then Bostic whiffs on him to block the imaginary players in the open space and nobody is there to block their number 2 on the perimeter. If it was Taquon, that would have been a loss of 5 yards. That was the Justin Thomas difference. I miss seeing a guy like him at the helm.

Also Zach's supposed to block that big 88. He ööööed that up too. Also Bryan Chamberlain is supposed to block that 63 or 43 whatever, I can't see his number, and he misses. Trey Braun hits his guy once and then lets him go. ööööshow to the max.

Sewak's head needs to be put on a spike on north avenue.

In your effort to put down the previous regime, you're dismissing a really big moment in Tech football history. A lot of us are very excited about the coaching change, but there are ways to convey that excitement without dumping on program history.

That TD has as much or more to do with #3 (Marcus Wright?) block on the safety than anything JT did. Not sure why this is relevant to your thread. TLDR
