Good thread title, but I'm not sure if it was worth the stretch.

Meh, it's easy to say he's butt hurt, but the bigger issue here for me is how the NFL conducts investigations and doles out punishments. The NFL head of investigations resigned on the Friday before the draft. Why would he do this in the midst of perhaps the biggest investigation in NFL history? We already have good reason to believe that bounty programs were held in other locker rooms around the league. My guess is that Hummel (NFL director of investigation) wanted to investigate other locker rooms around the league, but the NFL didn't want that to happen, so he was probably forced to resign. What's my basis for that guess?
First off, it's the NFL's lack of interest in investigating other franchises. Second, when the story was released about the director of NFL investigations was leaving (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...nation-letter/), naturally, speculation began to emerge about this being linked to the bounty probe, so the NFL released a statement claiming, "Hummel wasn’t running the bounty investigation, even though his title is 'director of investigations.'" OK, so he wasn't running investigations, but he was still heavily involved according to NFL spokesperson Greg Aiello: Quote:
