I won't get the details right, but when Curry was hired Spurrier would have stayed but Bill passed on him saying something to the effect that he wanted a more exciting or potent offense. Supposedly after Spurrier shellacked Curry at Kentucky while at Florida and, I believe, hung about 70 on him, Steve asked at the post-game handshake if the offense had been exciting enough for him. Gotta love the evil genius.
