Color me shocked. It's obvious the reason he left UF was because he saw the depth of the problems in the program. It will be interesting to see how he handles THE Ohio State gig given what happened at UF.

Ohio State will win a pair of MNCs and then Meyer will have health problems again, end up at USC, etc, leaving a trail of imploded programs behind him. Kiffin will, of course, leave abruptly for the ND job in the meantime as Brian Kelly's head explodes, leaving the fighting irish coachless.
This is beginning to feel scripted. Like one of my friends is going to come to me and say, "you actually believe football is real?" |

I have to think that the blatant sense of totally selfish over-entitlement that he encountered when he began recruiting the blue chippers for Florida was quite different from his Utah experience.
The well established "Bull Gator" support structure culture that continued to nurture and materially provide for these young men once they got on campus at Gainesville only served to exacerbate the situation and anyone who thinks that this is a problem unique just to Florida or the SEC is beyond naive. It's hard to tell when Meyer realized what was smacking him in the face, but my feeling is that his surprise and shock of what he was dealing with contributed greatly to his on again / off again retirement scenario there. |

This article is stupid. It's basically about Meyer treated his better players differently. Who cares? It obviously worked.
And anyone shocked that kids at UF smoked pot have obviously never been to UF. At the end of the day, Meyer managed to win two MNCs. I don't want my program being run the way he ran Florida, but his approach obviously worked. Until the NCAA bans drug use, Meyer didn't really do anything wrong.

I don't think this will bother anyone at UF or OSU. All they want is to win games, and this is the kind of guy it takes to do that.
