View Poll Results: Which best expresses your feelings about Hewitt's future?
I have seen enough; fire him. 40 51.28%
Even if we could afford to fire him, I'd say give him at least another year. 3 3.85%
Let's see how the season plays out. 19 24.36%
Keep him for now... but only because it'd cost too much to fire him. 16 20.51%
Voters: 78. You may not vote on this poll

Default Hewitt

Seems about time for a Hewitt poll. Poll is anonymous, select just one answer. Or don't participate. Or, if you think I am a douche-bag for posting this poll, you may tell me, preferably with a visual aid of some kind.

If my options don't express how you feel, well gosh, you can post a reply about how you feel!

The more I think about it, I guess the only good answer is to see how the season plays out. Surely we wouldn't fire him if our team somehow wins the ACC tournament or gets to the elite 8 or beyond. A better poll would have been: How well does our season have to turn out for you to be in favor of giving Hewitt another year? I think it would be hard to fire him if he won the ACC or made it to the Sweet 16, especially given the cost of firing.

Well if we fired him right now it wouldn't matter if our team won the ACC tournament or went to the Elite Eight, because it would be under a different coach.

Umm... My choice isn't up there. What if you want to keep him indefinitely because you really, really like his coaching style and think he is one of the best coaches ever.

Just kidding. I say get rid of him. Or rework the contract so it doesn't automatically renew. He was good before the auto-renewal took affect.

We would get torched in the media if we fired him now. How do you fire a coach mid-season when he has a winning record in the ACC this year and is ranked #20?

As for re-working the contract, this would be an awful move I think. First, why in the world would Hewitt agree to make it easier for us to fire him? Second, why would we want to announce to the world that we have no faith in our coach? The only purpose of negitiating a lower buy-out would be if we are going to buy him out now.

Yeah, let's do that!

If you had an auto-renewing five year contract, why would you ever agree to change it?

I agree with your creating a poll, but just the thought of posting a visual aid to illustrate a douche-bag made me lose my lunch.

How are you going to fire him when we are 17-6 and ranked #20? I swear I feel like some people on this board think we are 6-17. I really don't even think Hewitt is a good coach but we still have a good record this year and are likely to make the tourney.

Sorry bout that. I was thinking more along the lines of this classic than the visual you lost your lunch over.

How are you going to fire a DC when you finished the season 11-3, ranked the highest you've been ranked in like 10 years, and win the ACC?
