Default BC and VT in ACC

Since we have these two team first, what are your feelings on their additions to the conference?
In my opinion, I am more of a traditionalist and liked it better without them, but with their addition as well as Miami is gives the ACC a little more talent and prestige.

Thoughts?

I hate it, because it has screwed up basketball.

lukewarm on VT (only in for political reasons), BC doesn't bother me.

Expansion was a necessary evil. Brought about the largest television contract for any conference (prior to the massive SEC deal just announced this week.)

I just can't get into Tech vs. Miami, VT, or BC in basketball.

"prior to the massive SEC deal just announced this week."

there were actually 2 deals, one with CBS and one with ESPN. CBS has the broadcast rights and some wireless rights. ESPN got the cable rights and the syndication rights, IIRC

CBS, $800million for 15 years

ESPN, $2.25BILLION for 15 years

VT is a nice rival for UVA (but unnecessary, since they already had MD and UNC.) I don't get BC, since the heritage of the ACC is the old original Southern Conference. If we were going that far afield, I would have liked at least a play for ND.

This was a fun discussion back when it was happening.

Aww, my big brother's a Stingtalker now.

As far as football goes, I don't mind VT or UM.
They do seem like more of an SEC team with the thugs they recruit.

I don't really care one way or the other about BC.

Well, my son, you were a bit too young to remember the good ole days of the acc, about 8 years ago.

Imagine the ACC without BC, VT, or UM... We get trashed already...
