Default Gregory on Transfers

Wonder if this gets CBG the kind of negative press that CPJ gets over his recruiting/signing policies ....

I don't like where he said he'd let a guy go to UGA if it came down to it. What's the point of the rule if it's not going to be enforced?

Yeah, I don't really get that either.

"You can transfer anywhere except ACC schools or U[sic]GA...unless you really want to go to one of those, then I won't fight it."

I don't know if he is trying to lighten it up for the press so he doesn't get drilled for being too 'stern' or feeding into any kind of rivalry, or he just doesn't stick to his guns... From what I've seen, I didn't have him pegged as a guy who got pushed around.

Its gotten so ---- PC to NOT hate or show disfavor for your schools rival in any kind of public form that its pathetic....

Like he said, coaches are under a lot of scrutiny right now for these type issues. I'd rather he take this approach than the one Larry Brown is taking at SMU:

Sounds like Brown is cleaning house to pave the way for future recruits. The SMU cash cow may be back up and running. Larry Brown has always seemed shady to me.

Bo Ryan at Wisconsin wouldn't let a kid transfer to any Big Ten team, neighboring state, team they play, or the ACC because they might play them in the ACC/Big 10 challenge. The kid was from Minnesota and wanted to go to Iowa State who doesn't even play Wisconsin and he blocked it, using as an excuse that he wasn't allowed an exit interview.
