Alright, so the Hawks took game 1. Everyone and their grandmother at TNT seems to think that it should have been a jump ball (in which case Rondo never would have thrown a hissy fit and got ejected) instead of a foul, but it seemed pretty clear to me from the replay that the Celtics never really had a handle on the ball to warrant a tie up and Josh was clearly hit in the face.
Thoughts? Besides "People actually watch NBA basketball?" and other such remarks that haven't been original for quite some time. |

Definitely a foul.
The "you can't call a foul in that situation" crowd is retarded. |

Rondo did trip over the officials foot, but Rondo did stick out his chest. Didn't help that he gave a very pissed off look after the bump as well. Wouldn't be surprised to see if he is out for game 2.

Memphis was up 95-71 with about 9 min left. Clippers went on a 26-1 run to take the lead. Rudy Gay just gave the Griz a 1-point lead with 28 seconds left.

Clippers win. I'm not sure I've ever seen a bigger choke job in the playoffs...in basketball, that is.

The Hawks, for some reason, get a lot of LIKE but rarely any LOVE. Heartbreaking, really...

Josh Smith had a good game last night.....he will have to put that effort every night if Joe "The Hamburglar" Johnson keeps stinking it up...

The rulebook states that "Any player or coach guilty of intentional physical contact with an official shall automatically be suspended without pay for one game. A fine and/or longer period of suspension will result if circumstances so dictate." There's obviously discretion applied though, as otherwise you would have to suspend every player who puts his hand on an official's shoulder.
