I think if we win this game we have a good shot at an even or winning record. But I don't think we beat them again. What do y'all think?

NC State is a 4-point favorite.

It is always good to hope!

That's true. I don't think there were a lot of people thinking a win in Raleigh. After last night upsets, a win tonight would just add it.

Let's get back-to-back win's against State!

On paper NCSU has more talent than GT. GT is a bit deeper but NCSU is more talented. Having said that neither team is very consistent and NCSU does have major flaws that can bring them down.

If we shoot the way we did in Raleigh we have a chance. Especially if we can get on them early as they have some fragile psyches.

we all had tempered expectations of the season, but I agree, this sets the bar a little too low.

The line is only 4?

We lose by double digits.

Last time I violated my 'no betting on GT sports' rule, I got burned by NCST. However, this line, if true, is easy money.

We whooped them at NCSU. I don't see why we can't do that again, at home.

We're 9-14 (2-7 ACC), yet you think if we get to 10-14, we have a good shot to go 5-1 or better over the last 6?

My inside sources tell me they are trying to lose this one. Word on the street is, this is the only team ever to enjoy wanting to lose games. Surely we can't both be right.

The backside of our schedule is super weak when compared to the front end. I don't think his assertion is that crazy

State's coach told the media here that his team better be(e) ready to try to try to stop Tech from trying to try to win.

It was play on the "GT vs. BC. We must win" thread. This game doesn't seem as winnable or as crucial for turning things around.

I was hoping for an ACC tournament win, but now that I think about it we'd need two to bolster our W-L ratio. At least a winning record is still possible! Getting to 10 wins would save us from extreme embarrassment. I'm trying to be positive here!

Seems to be a pattern that we start well on D, but do just barely better on O, then the other team goes on a run.

Maybe starting Rice helped?

other ways? like occupying a jersey?

I think the theory is Udofia is better off the ball, so if we could get someone else handling the ball, we'd get more scoring.

The theory is destroyed when either Jordan turns it over or Udofia bricks the shot.

Can't shoot 25% and expect to win many games.

Couple of state runs and we are in a hole. Defense and rebounding not too bad - offense lacking at this point.

Actually Udofia playing point more than 2 guard. While shooting sux he does have 5 assists to 1 TO and 7 rebounds.

We need shooter/scorers in a huge way.

The rebounding helps, but he really had 10 turnovers by taking 9 stupid shots.

I would have liked to have seen Zam stick around and try his hand at 2-guard with Crittenton at the point, but yeah...Udofia can't shoot.

FWIW, after going through workouts after being hired last spring, the whispers started that the staff was not impressed with the level of guard play and felt that was a bigger issue than the bigs. I thought that was crazy given the personnel we had, but it looks like they knew what they were talking about.

There always seems to be a point in the game when Jr gets frustrated that no one can score and tries to do it all himself. It usually ends with him being over aggressive and trying to take the whole other team to the rack. Although I like this competitiveness and confidence, I wish he could spread some of that aggression out over the course of the game and not focus it all into the point in the game when there is 5-7 minutes left. That said, he does often have a knack for flying through several defenders, looking wildly out of control, and then somehow finding balance and putting a soft touch on a shot/lay-in. Must be his 'gangliness'

I still can't make out the tat on Holseys shoulder. Is it a laughing Jesus?

Didn't have to use Hicks last night. Thank laughing Jesus.

Yep - he looked good bringing us back at Clemson and not so good other places. But he is probably our only legit "playmaker". I thought Morris and maybe Reed would be playmakers for us this year but no such luck.

I like the inside out focus of our set, but there are times it gets predictable and especially at the end of the game as you say Rice gets that look in his eye that he just needs to make something happen. And he is probably right to think so.

How can guards shoot 0 for 9 and 1 for 7? I know they are trying, but this is pitiful.
