I have been all over the web for the past three days, and pretty much every sports and betting site on the planet expects the 15th-ranked Jackets to handle the Tigers. They have home field advantage, a tricky offense, a great head coach, and Clemson’s history of losing these types of games all on their side. Everything seems to point to a Tech victory, and the smart money says the Jackets win in the five to seven point ranges. But the so-called pundits haven’t been around Kevin Steele or his defense the past few months. Nor have they seen the passion that Clemson’s players have exhibited in their desire to turn the program around. Things have been truly different in 2009. Look for that passion to keep the Tigers close throughout the game, and Richard Jackson hits that big field goal late to thrill Clemson fans and give the ACC another nail-biter on national television. Add another tombstone to the entrance of the Clemson practice field.
I want this to be remembered tomorrow morning, because I think it's a complete pile of horse****.

If Parker and his wideouts can hit a couple of big plays early, it might open up the running game for C.J. Spiller, who had one of his most electric games against Tech three years ago. Expect Spiller to have some openings, especially late as the Jacket defense wears down.

Maybe that douche doesn't realize we don't have Tenuta coaching our D anymore. Those big runs that Spiller got a couple of years ago were probably mostly due to Tenuta's all-or-nothing blitzing. If a fast guy gets past the first level when you're blitzing ANY back could have put up big numbers. It wasn't because Spiller is SOOO amazing. I doubt he comes ANYWHERE close to the numbers he had in that game. Also, he will not be able to 'pound' it up the middle like Davis did the past couple of years to 'wear our defense down'.

Wow, you guys get really offended over a pretty levelheaded and unbiased preview. I could see a GT preview reading the exact same way, except with switching GT and Clemson in the last section. It's really shaping up to be a close game.

This:

It is complete and utter homer bull****, which I'd expect from a site devoted to Clemson, but I still find ridiculous.

You're right... those comments are almost as ridiculous as the Notre Dame "wake up the echoes" talk this year. In the next five weeks, they are going to lose to Dick Rod, get beat by Michigan State, a Washington team that almost beat LSU, then get beat by SC by another 30 points.

You want to know something I find amusing? People have been talking about how impressive Spiller looked against Middle Tennessee or whatever directional school they played and it is so much crap. It is true he did very well on special teams, but you know what he did as a running back?

4 carries
12 yards
wwwooooowww

Well he's an all-purpose player so what about catches? Any of those?

0 catches, 0 yards

Media really gets under my skin sometimes. Especially when it doesn't fragrantly piss me off, just annoys me and chews at my patience.

I'm guessing you're referring to my statement, and I didn't mean MTSU was crap, I meant the talk about Spiller from that game was mostly crap.

CJ Spiller has to be by far the most over-hyped college player in the past decade. You can thank the 5 star rivals ranking for a lot of that.

He had one big game against us and ever since then, he is treated like a God. He reminds me of a crappier version of Reggie Bush. Once he gets in the NFL, people are going to quickly realize that he isn't durable and can only return Kicks and Punts.

Not so sure they won't be able to pound it up the middle. If they can, we are in real trouble. Even if they can't and Tarrant gives Ford the same 7+ yd cushion he did for JSU, we are still in trouble. If either of these happens, the only antidote is score, score, and score.

Spiller is not over rated. CPJ sure doesn't think so. I agree with Cajun though, he's not durable.

I agree with you on the basis on that our DL is probably not very good on run D...but Spiller is NOT a between the tackles type of runner. He goes down easily when you get to him.

He's much more dangerous(I guess) in the open field with one or two guys to beat and some space to do it.

Their other guy can pound it between the tackles.
