Shula, Reeves and Marino seem to want him there.

Dan Reeves was also in Chan's corner when he was up for the GT job.

I don't know who votes in those news articles polls as seen in that article (I know I voted just to see the results) but...

The participants are very overwhelmingly in support of "NEITHER."
Mora= 30.5%
Gailey=25.9%
NEITHER= 43.6%

Nothing meaningful, but it is interesting.

The Steelers coach was pro-Gailey too.

Gailey gets a lot of support from people who know football.

That is true, and he garners praise from those whom he has coached for the most part.

I just thought it interesting that a faction of the fan base wasn't sold on him as their new coach. I'm sure the poll is extremely skewed, though.

I'll go ahead and snipe it before someone else posts it - Aikman hated Gailey. Emmit Smith loved him though.

Goes to show yet another area where fans and people who actually know football differ in opinion.

The funny thing is that a few years after Chan was fired Troy Aikman acknowledged that he handled the situation poorly and could have had more success with Chan. I am trying to find the article from which I got that information but it is escaping me. I'll continue to look, though.

Great. If they know football, and like him, then hurry up and take him!

Exactly, Troy didn't want to put the work in football that Chan wanted him too to be successful. Troy had it made with the other coaches. This might not be 100% but most of it is by a quarterback I used to block for so I think most is true.

jojatk, Aikmans numbers Improved under CCG why he complained is beyond me.
He was at the end of his career with better numbers than he had the previous 2 years you'd have to think he should've been very happy with CCG.

Yep, that why I added the "for the most part" tag.

Gailey wanted him to change the way he played and Troy didn't think he needed to. What he didn't realize is that without Harper and Irvin to go get the ball from DBs, he actually needed to read the play instead of just throw timing patterns.

Hey mover, I think I have told you this before but I was at the Super Bowl here in ATL at the Georgia Dome in which you played. I was sitting right above the tunnel you came out of and when they announced your name I went nuts screaming and cheering and had everyone sitting around me looking at me like I had blown a gasket, including one Hannah Storm who was sitting two rows behind me.

I gotta say that back then she looked just as good in person as she did on TV. But then at one point during the game I turned around and saw her jamming a HUGE handful of popcorn into her mouth and the magic was gone ;)

That was by far my best memory of a SuperBowl, to be home near my family and my Tech Family.

This time of year is always hard for me because of the 4 loses. I still haven't watched superbowl 25 completely, hurts way too much.
